Writing planning
This service helps you plan a document before investing time in researching material and writing a draft.
Writing planning saves you time and money. It reduces the stress of multiple rewrites that can result when documents don’t have a clear purpose.
Planning involves identifying the audience for your document, understanding what your audience needs, clarifying what you want to communicate to the audience and what you want your audience to do, learn or remember after reading your material.
Capire offers two types of writing planning service:
Writing plan
When you have a complex or important document to write, but you’re short of time, we can create a writing plan for you.
This service involves a structured face-to-face or online interview. We use a tried-and-tested process to draw out your knowledge of the subject, context and audience related to the document.
Through this process, we establish and organise the ‘big picture’ elements of the document. We turn this into a detailed outline of the document you need to write. Our outline includes informative subheadings and clear key messages that you can draft supporting content for.
Writing planning workshop
A face-to-face or online workshop is a great way for a group to learn writing planning techniques and develop their skills and confidence to plan their writing.
We centre our workshops around an actual document that your team needs to write.
A workshop is ideal when a team will bring different ideas, knowledge and expertise to a document or needs to reach consensus on the writing plan.
At the end of this workshop, your team will have a detailed outline of the document they need to write. They will also be equipped with a planning process that they can use to plan their writing in future.

What our clients say
Helen’s unique skill meant she could take my ramblings and help consolidate our thoughts into words that said what we really meant in a clear and powerful way. Helen was a pleasure to work with, and calmly took vague instructions and made a meaningful contribution.
